Strength for Today
Worship started early this morning..
like 7 am early.
At 7 am I was already reaching for the TV to escape the once folded laundry my toddler has thrown across the room and the mounting pile of dishes that needs attention because I’m drinking water from a coffee cup.
On top of that I’m trying to distract myself from the negative and anxious streams of thought that are so incessant these days.
I can’t function in this mess but I’m too overwhelmed to do anything about it.
At first, I was planning on streaming a show until I summoned the energy to face the day. But once my toddler saw the TV turn on, he insisted on music (after I said no to Cocomelon 😉 )
And Resurrecting by Elevation Worship comes on.
“By Your spirit I will rise
From the ashes of defeat
The resurrected King, is resurrecting me
In Your name I come alive
To declare Your victory
The resurrecting king is resurrecting me.”
So even though I am feeling defeated by daily life, I can hold on to the truth that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is alive in me. And according to Romans 8:11, that power gives life to my mortal body.
And that is what is going to give me the strength for today.

Yes! So powerful. That same power that raised Jesus is in us, if we believe in him. Love that you intentionally decided to make that your perspective. Super cute photo!
